Step by Step

Homelessness in Cambodia:

“The Cambodian government is notorious for forcibly evicting residents to make way for development. The United Nations has repeatedly raised concerns about tens of thousands of people who have been evicted in recent years with lack of due process, inadequate compensation and the excessive use of force.”

Homeless children in the Capital of Bangladesh:

“Estimates of the number of children living on the street in Dhaka vary from 250,000 to 400,000. Rapid urbanization in the country has created pockets of dense slums and squatter settlements, each of which is home to thousands of street children.”

Homelessness in Capital of the Philippine Islands:

“… but for a Filipino like me who was raised in my own country, I think it is one of the most problematic features in my country.”

One can research each country in the world the same way, to get a glimpse of the hugeness of homelessness. There are committed groups of people all over the world who reach out every day to the homeless children, adults and families. Maryknoll Sisters, Fathers, Brothers and Lay people do so worldwide. Some do so quietly and in their own way – just as strongly:
